GULLIVER'S TRAVELS DI JONATHAN SWIFT: RIASSUNTO IN INGLESE
Jonathan Swift was an Irish author who wrote Gulliver’s Travel (1721-25) which consists of four book, each tells the adventures of the ship’s surgeon, Lemuel Gulliver on unknown and mysterious Islands.In the first book Gulliver is shipwrecked on the Island of Lilliput. Here the inhabitants, the Lilliputians, are small men who are six inches tall(20-25cm); they are hospitable and he also meet the emperor who wants to use him as a weapon against their enemies. The enemies live in the island of Blefuscu. They are in war for a dispute: from which part they have to break an egg. Gulliver decides to help the Lilliputians(if the enemies attack before them) but due to the intrigues between the high and the low heels(the two parts in which the Lilliputians are divided), Gulliver is declared traitor.
GULLIVER'S TRAVELS: RIASSUNTO BREVE
He is able to flee and then a ship take him home. In the second one Gulliver is shipwrecked on the island of the giants, Brobdingnag. They are twelve time as tall as Gulliver(22 meters). Here he is taken by a giant who consider him as a pet. One day the farmer gives him to the king who puts Gulliver in a cage. For the protagonist, the permanence in this land is unpleasant because they disgust him and for the conditions in which he has to live. The animals are a real danger but during a trip with the Royal couple, an eagle take the cage in which he is situated and let it in the sea. Then he return home. In the third one Gulliver is shipwrecked on a floating island of Laputa whose inhabitants are absent-minded scientist. These men do absurd experiments and improbable researches which prove that the theoretical knowledge is useless if they aren’t practical implications.
RIASSUNTO VIAGGI DI GULLIVER, JONATHAN SWIFT
They oppress the inhabitants of Balnibarbi. Gulliver decides to move there and he meets some historical characters. Then he goes to Japan and then he returns home. In the last one Gulliver is shipwrecked on a land whose inhabitants are the Houyhnhnms, rational horses, and their servants, the Yahoo who appear like the humans. the Yahoo are ugly both in body and in spirits. Gulliver meet the horses and he learns their language and he explain them the English Constitution. the protagonist is disgusted by the Yahoo so he asks if he can stay with the Houyhnhnms but they banish him. he starts to disgust all the humans, in fact when he returns home he decides to live in the stable.
